Frisbees and Die Hard 5

7th May 2013

usse Combat Knife Company is proud to have been a part of a special screening of “A Good Day to Die Hard” for our troops in Germany and Kuwait. In support of our Armed Forces, the USO teamed up with 20th Century Fox to showcase advanced screenings of the film before its nationwide release.

Nearly 400 airmen watched the movie on Ramstein Air Base alongside Director John Moore and star Jai Courtney. Also in attendance were 85 servicemen and women from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center who were wounded, ill, or injured. Days later the film was flown via 18 hour flight to Kuwait by the movie’s editor, Dan Zimmerman. Zimmerman spoke briefly to the over 700 service members from Camp Arifjan saying, “It’s always a real thrill when people enjoy what you do, enjoy the movie and kind of get lost in the moment.”

Along with the special viewings, the troops also received special promotional materials including hats and tshirts. Busse Combat contributed to this effort by including 1000 frisbees emblazoned with the infamous Busse Combat hog logo with the hopes that the servicemen and women could have some fun and pass a little time during their deployment.

Nearly 50 Busse Combat knives were purchased by the production company and delivered to Russia for either inclusion in the movie or gifting.

In the movie, John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.
